Orlistat Generic Xenical Xenical is a prescription medication that blocks the absorption of dietary fat and is effective in long-term weight control - weight loss, weight maintenance and prevention of weight gain. Xenical is a 120mg capsule. The recommended dose of Xenical is one capsule with each of your three main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). It is to be taken during or up to one hour after each main meal. Sibutramine (Generic Meridia) Sibutramine (SIB), an inhibitor of serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake, has been shown in clinical trials to be associated with a dose-related decrease in bodyweight. Sibutramine has been FDA approved since 1997 and along with improved diet and increased exercise, is a front line treatment for obesity. Rimonabant (Acomplia and Generics) In Europe, rimonabant, known as ACOMPLIA® is approved as an adjunct to diet and exercise for the treatment of obese patients (BMI=30kg/m2), or overweight patients (BMI>27kg/m2) with associated risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes or dyslipidaemia. Rimonabant is currently commercialised in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Ireland, Argentina and Austria. Bupropion + Naltrexone Hcl (Generic Contrave™) Patients completing the 24-week trial who received Contrave with the highest test dose of naltrexone lost an average of 7.52% weight from baseline as compared to an average of 1.03% weight loss from baseline experienced by patients using the placebo.
